Jose Felix Diaz was born and raised in Miami, Florida. The son of Cuban immigrants, Jose grew up in the Westchester area of Miami where he attended St. Brendan Elementary and High School. Early on, he took an interest in public service when he was elected to serve as student body president of both Saint Brendan High School and of the University of Miami. After being named Florida College Student of the Year, Jose went on to Columbia Law School in New York City where he received several notable distinctions including the American Bar Association's Silver Key - one of the highest honors a student can receive. After law school, Jose was selected from over 1 million candidates to be a contestant on season five of NBC's "The Apprentice" with Donald Trump. He returned to Miami to accept a position with the City's largest law firm, Akerman Senterfitt, and was appointed to the American Bar Association's House of Delegates, the legislative body for lawyers, and elected to the Cuban American Bar Association's Board of Directors. Jose serves his community by dedicating his efforts to the American Red Cross's Speakers Bureau, the St. Brendan High School Alumni Association, and CHARLEE Homes for Children, where he is a member of the foster care agency's executive committee. He also serves as the business mentor for both Seminole Elementary and Miami Coral Park Senior High School. In addition, Jose assists his community by offering free legal services to needy clients and has been twice recognized by the Put Something Back Program with the Pro Bono Service award.
